What is a Cybersecurity Clinic?

For decades, schools of law and medicine have operated “clinics” where students gain hands-on experience by working with real-world clients who have limited resources. The Metro State Cybersecurity Clinic adapts this successful model to the field of cybersecurity, specifically to support a wide range of under-resourced organizations, including Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs), K-12 schools, underserved municipalities, non-profits, small utility companies, and more. Trained students from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines will provide essential cybersecurity services to help protect these organizations from digital threats.

What Services Metro State's Clinic Will Provide
Metro State's Cybersecurity Clinic offers free risk assessment services based on the CIS Controls Implementation Group 1 (IG1), which is designed to provide practical and effective strategies for strengthening your organization’s cybersecurity posture.

Metro State University is an NSA/DHS designated CAE/CD (Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense) institution. MN Cyber is a public-private partnership with the sole mission of helping MN become the nation's cyber leader.
